Art Book

#21daysinmyartworld

Hello artist friend

I keep wanting to tell you about the wonderful things I'm seeing popping up under the #21daysinmyartworld hashtag over on Instagram. Such fascinating stories behind the little squares, so many opportunities for 'me too!' and making new friends, so much wisdom shared, and so much lovely support for each other. Thank you thank you for being so engaged and fantastic!

Do you have a favourite art book? Or maybe you wrote an art book?!

{I did. 😊 Two, in fact.}

Today we're sharing a book about art, whether that's one you love, one you'd like to read, a book about technique or about history of art, or even fiction. I've enjoyed quite a few novels about artists at this point.

And yes, you can include sketchbooks in this if you like! #norules

If you don't own the book in question to photograph, you can download the image from Amazon, find it at your library, or simply share an image of books in general - perhaps you have a bookcase of art books in your home or studio.

If none of that works, you can always substitute an image of your choosing - perhaps a painting you made after being inspired by or learning something from a book - and talk about the book in the caption.

Here are some art and creativity books of different types that I recently read and enjoyed:

📚 Permission to Be An Artist - Megan Auman

📚 Contemporary Weaving in Mixed Media - Rachna Garodia

📚 Looking to Sea: Britain through the Eyes of its Artists - Lily Le Brun

📚 Drawing with Charcoal - Kate Boucher

📚 Experimental Drawing - Robert Kaupelis

{Some of these links are affiliate links, meaning if you purchase the books I'll receive a tiny commission at no extra cost to you. Thank you!}

Looking forward to seeing your recommendations! This always ends up being the most expensive prompt. 😉

Wishing you creative joy in abundance
