Seeing where you've come from, learning more about who you are and the choices you've made as an artist.
It's comforting for beginners to see that the artists they admire also had to start somewhere, and that that 'somewhere' was {of course} not as refined as where they are now.
And it's encouraging for us to see how we've grown and developed as artists - the building blocks of where we are now.
